Food Drives and Sponsor A Senior

Food Drives

The SMHS PTO collaborates with the SMHS social workers to coordinate Food Drives for our food insecurity program.

The SMHS Food insecurity program helps to provide food for between 20-60 SMHS FAMILIES weekly.

While we run food drives about once a month, you are welcome to drop off donations anytime during the front office hours.

MOST REQUESTED ITEMS- Chips, fruit snacks, applesauce, juice, shelf stable milk, shelf stable chocolate milk, crackers (goldfish/cheez-its/ritz), microwaveable food (cup of noodles, ravioli, ramen, soup oatmeal) and cookies/fun treats

*Don’t have time to shop, drop off a Costco, or any grocery gift card, and our school social worker will do the shopping.

If you are interested in providing some extra help for our food scarcity program, or if you need food assistance, please reach out to the SMHS social worker – Michelle.atkins@smusd.org.

All donations are tax deductable questions? Send an email to smhsptopresident@gmail.com.

Thank you for your generosity and support!

Sponsor a Senior

In collaboration with our school social worker and counseling department, we help students in need with their Senior year expenses. Funds donated from our wonderful families are used to help cover costs such as; attending Senior events, purchasing a cap/tassel, getting  a yearbook, or other special Senior class items.

Any Senior student that would like to request assistance is encouraged to reach out to the school social worker. The PTO does is not directly involved with the distribution of funds. The amount of help we can offer depends on the amount of donations we receive.

With your help, we can help more senior students with the cost of these items: Cap, Tassel, Senior prom, Yearbook, and the Senior Disney Trip.
